Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) uses your own blood to obtain growth factors that play a role in the reformation and renewal of tissues.

PRF is used as a filler treatment that utilizes a portion of the patient's own blood. Unlike PRP, PRF has a higher concentration of platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells, and it also contains a small number of stem cells.

  • The formation of New blood vessels brings in a fresh supply of nutrients, providing your skin with a healthy glow.

  • Toxins, fluids, and excess pigmentation can be cleared away.

  • Your skin’s metabolism improves. Dead skin cells disappear faster, and unwanted fat cells may burn away to create smoother skin.

  • Collagen and elastin layers are repaired, for improved skin elasticity, plumpness, and smoothness.

We use PRF injections under the eyes to help with dark circles, skin texture, tear troughs, and other concerns about the undereyes.

MOST COMMON CONCERNS THAT PRF UNDEREYE TREATMENT CAN HELP:

Each component of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) plays a role in reversing the aging process. Platelets trigger the release of growth factors that are responsible for forming new skin cells, collagen, and blood vessels. The presence of white blood cells in PRF may slow down the release of growth factors, which prolongs the results from PRF treatment. These growth factors help lessen wrinkles, poor texture, and tone and improve the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.

The PRF Under Eye Treatment Process

Each PRF under the eye treatment begins with a consultation. LeAnn will talk with you to understand your goals and concerns and examine your undereye region to create a personalized treatment plan.

During your treatment, you will have blood drawn. It will then be run through a centrifuge, which will concentrate and separate the platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). Once PRF is separated, it will be injected into the under-eye region.

Once PRF is injected into the dermis layer, this will provide volume under the eye, it will repair and stimulate collagen and elastin. The collagen and elastin will help your skin regain elasticity and plump up, leading to a more youthful appearance.

  • After initial swelling has gone down, results can be noticed after approx. 1-2 days. Visible results continue to improve up to a week later.

  • Since healing cells work under the skin, improvement begins at the time of treatment.  Complete results are gradual and continue to improve because of the slow release of growth factors (the PRF treatment results) that occurs.

  • Full results around 2-3 months after each treatment.

  • PRF differs from PRP because PRP results are not as long or effective- they don’t have the great growth factors PRF contains.

  • The results from PRF continue to improve over weeks and last up to a year.  Yearly treatment is recommended to maintain results.

How long will PRF Results last?

What to do before PRF Treatment?

  • Hydrate!

  • Exercise,  to increase circulation and blood flow (not necessary, but can help).

What not to do before and after PRF?

  •  Avoid alcohol before treatment!

  • This causes increased swelling and bruising and also decreases the amount of PRF we are able to collect.
